Job description

We are seeking Assistant Estimator. This is a full time role assisting with compiling initial project pricing into a format utilized for bidding and construction. The right candidate will be trained to take ownership of a new project, develop an understanding of its scope and build a thorough preliminary budget. Responsibilities also include contributing to the collaborative effort of developing relationships with new clients and architects under the direction of the lead estimator. The ideal candidate has enthusiasm for a team environment and a driven creative side.

Necessary skills:

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

• Familiarity with Google Workspace and Google Drive

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with subcontractors.

Preferred skill set or aptitude to quickly learn the following:

• Ability to complete basic construction takeoffs from project blueprints and apply them to labor and material pricing.

• A general understanding of building construction practices and materials.

• A general understanding of residential home designs and finishes.

• Familiarity with Bluebeam (or comparable) software is preferred.

• Ability to compile and maintain meeting agendas with clients and design teams.
