Calibration Lab Manager | Arlington, TX | Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Calibration Lab Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Arlington, Texas calibration laboratory. This position is responsible for managing the Calibration Technician team as well as Shipping & Receiving operations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with company quality procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in calibration combined with proven management experience. We are looking for someone who understands how a calibration shop operates, can effectively lead and hold employees accountable, and is comfortable addressing personnel, workflow, customer, and operational matters at a managerial level.

Candidates with military, MRO, aviation/aerospace, maintenance, repair, or technical shop management experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the Arlington, TX calibration laboratory.

• Directly supervise Calibration Technicians and site personnel.

• Plan and coordinate workload, priorities, scheduling, and staffing to maintain productivity and turnaround expectations.

• Provide technical oversight and guidance to calibration personnel.

• Ensure technicians are properly trained and following established calibration methods, procedures, and quality requirements.

• Monitor employee performance, productivity, attendance, conduct, and adherence to company policies.

• Address employee concerns, performance issues, conflicts, and other personnel matters appropriately at the managerial level.

• Provide coaching, feedback, training, and corrective direction when necessary.

• Maintain accountability among employees and ensure expectations are clearly communicated and consistently followed.

• Oversee Shipping & Receiving workflow to ensure customer equipment is properly received, identified, tracked, handled, and prepared for return.

• Coordinate between technicians, Shipping & Receiving, Quality, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve workflow or customer-related issues.

• Ensure laboratory operations comply with company quality procedures and applicable calibration requirements.

• Assist with identifying training needs and developing technicians' technical capabilities.

• Monitor laboratory equipment, standards, tooling, supplies, and general shop needs.

• Troubleshoot operational problems and escalate significant quality, customer, or personnel concerns to appropriate leadership.

• Maintain an organized, professional, safe, and efficient shop environment.

• Support continuous improvement of laboratory processes, productivity, quality, and turnaround time.

• Perform other management and operational duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience working as a Calibration Technician, performing calibration of electronic, electrical, dimensional, mechanical, or other measurement and test equipment.

• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience leading technicians or employees within a technical environment.

• Demonstrated experience managing the daily operations of a technical shop, laboratory, MRO operation, manufacturing facility, maintenance/repair operation, or similar environment.

• Strong understanding of technical workflows, equipment, procedures, documentation, and quality requirements.

• Proven ability to manage employees, establish expectations, delegate responsibilities, address performance concerns, and hold employees accountable.

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple operational priorities and make sound decisions independently.

Strongly Preferred

• Significant hands-on calibration and metrology experience, particularly electronic and/or dimensional calibration.

• Previous management experience within a calibration laboratory.

• Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environment.

• Military calibration, PMEL/TMDE, electronics, maintenance, or technical leadership experience.

• MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) experience.

• Aviation or aerospace industry experience.

• Manufacturing facility or technical shop management experience.

• Experience overseeing Shipping & Receiving, equipment tracking, inventory, or logistics functions.

Compensation & Location:

• Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly base salary (DOE)
