About Our Client

Our client operates a newly opened State Subsidized CCTR Preschool Center in San Leandro, CA - a mission-driven organization committed to delivering quality early childhood education and community-based childcare services. The center runs two classrooms licensed for up to 36 children aged 2-5 years.


The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and dedicated Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of their preschool center. This is a full ownership role - you'll be responsible for everything from regulatory compliance and staff management to curriculum oversight and family engagement. A Site Supervisor CTC Permit is required.


What You'll Be Responsible For

Operations & Compliance:

  • Oversee all center operations to ensure quality, compliant childcare services and sustainable growth

  • Implement and maintain Department of Social Services State licensing regulations for a Title 5 Center

  • Ensure full CCTR regulatory compliance with all funding terms and conditions

  • Manage announced and unannounced CLL visits and address any corrective actions as needed

  • Maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards across all rooms and play areas at all times

  • Monitor and follow up on work orders with appropriate vendors and contacts

Staff Management:

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teaching staff on-site

  • Ensure staff adhere to quality lesson plans, DRDPs, and CACFP guidance

  • Maintain proper teacher-to-child ratios in compliance with licensing regulations

  • Step into classrooms as needed to substitute, cover breaks, or support ratio requirements

  • Plan and lead monthly staff meetings to drive ongoing development and team communication

Children & Curriculum:

  • Ensure all enrolled children receive developmental assessments and individualized educational plans

  • Oversee implementation of age-appropriate curriculum tailored to each child's needs

  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and keep families informed on their child's development, progress, and areas of growth

Enrollment & Budget:

  • Collaborate with Enrollment Specialists to maintain enrollment levels that keep operating costs within budget

  • Support outreach efforts and special projects as needed

Food Program:

  • Manage the daily CACFP food program - including food supply ordering, kitchen supervision, meal preparation oversight, and compliance with child nutritional standards and record-keeping requirements

Safety & Reporting:

  • Report any suspected child abuse to the appropriate authorities and ensure all staff are trained and certified accordingly

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for center files

Family & Community Support:

  • Connect families with additional services offered by our client and provide referrals to outside resources as needed


What You'll Need

Required:

  • Site Supervisor CTC Permit

  • Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification

  • Preventive Health Practices certification

  • Live Scan clearance

  • Health Screening Report including TB test clearance

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, children, and families from diverse backgrounds

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and specialized childcare software

  • Genuine commitment to the mission and values of early childhood education

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift children or heavy items up to 50 lbs. unassisted

  • Ability to bend, stand, climb, and walk as needed

  • Comfortable working in an environment that may involve bodily fluids, germs, and childhood illnesses
