Certified Medical Assistant - Primary Care
Location: Oviedo, FL
Job Type: Full-Time | In Person
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Daytime Hours
Pay: $17.50-$22.00/hour, based on experience
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a growing practice in Oviedo, FL. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant who enjoys working in a busy clinical environment.
What You'll Do
• Room patients and prepare them for examinations
• Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, BMI, and chief complaints
• Review and update medical history, medications, allergies, and pharmacy information
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and clinical supplies
• Assist physicians, NPs, and PAs during examinations and procedures
• Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed and within scope of practice
• Perform EKGs, spirometry, vision and hearing screenings, and other diagnostic testing
• Collect blood, urine, and other specimens and prepare them for laboratory processing
• Perform point-of-care testing and document results accurately
• Provide patients with basic education regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up
• Maintain infection-control and sterilization standards
• Document patient information accurately in eClinicalWorks (eCW)
• Assist with prescription refill requests, referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient calls and portal messages
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Help with inventory, supplies, and overall office operations
What We're Looking For
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
• At least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Primary care experience preferred
• Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures
• Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a healthcare team
• Professional, dependable, and patient-focused
• Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not required
Schedule & Work Environment
• Full-time, Monday-Friday
• Daytime schedule, generally within 7:30 AM-5:00 PM
• No weekend schedule currently
