We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of civil construction estimating experience and strong knowledge of cement, aggregates, ready-mix operations, piling, material handling, and construction logistics across inland and marine environments.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate project scope, identify risks, and develop accurate lump-sum and unit-rate estimates.
Review blueprints, specifications, bid documents, and proposals to determine project scope
Perform detailed quantity take-offs
Calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Prepare lump-sum and unit-rate estimates
Develop accurate and competitive project bids
Review estimates for completeness, accuracy, and scope coverage
Identify high-risk areas within project bids
Perform cost analysis and risk assessments
Evaluate project logistics, site conditions, and mobilization requirements
Scout project sites to support logistics planning and mobilization
Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure complete project scope
Communicate professionally with potential clients and project stakeholders
Work effectively within a small, collaborative team environment
Build and maintain strong professional relationships
Support project teams with estimating and cost-related information
Utilize estimating software and industry-standard tools
Maintain accurate and organized estimating documentation
Follow established estimating procedures and industry best practices
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
10+ years of experience in civil construction estimating or a related field
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong understanding of civil construction methods and materials
Experience with quantity take-offs and cost estimating
Ability to perform advanced calculations and interpret technical data
Strong knowledge of labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of construction safety practices
Valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to travel as required

Project controls experience preferred
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
Experience estimating large-scale construction projects
Primavera P6 or related scheduling experience
Experience with project controls
Experience with marine or heavy civil construction
Work may be performed in an office, plant, and active job-site environments
Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions
Exposure to dust, noise, heavy equipment, and active construction operations
Regular physical activity including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
