We are seeking an experienced Civil Sitework & Paving Project Manager to oversee multiple heavy construction projects from project startup through completion. This is a hands-on role combining project management, cost and quantity control, scheduling, documentation, and regular field involvement.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with civil/site construction, asphalt paving, roadway work, excavation, grading, drainage, utilities, or commercial site development, along with the ability to read plans, coordinate field operations, and manage project execution.
Plan, schedule, and manage civil, paving, roadway, municipal, excavation, grading, drainage, utility, and commercial sitework projects.
Coordinate crews, equipment, materials, trucking, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, engineers, and customers.
Review civil/site plans, grading and drainage plans, specifications, contracts, CAD drawings, estimates, and project scopes.
Support field layout, stakeout, grade checks, measurements, and plan interpretation using survey information, GPS, Trimble, or similar technology.
Perform and review quantity takeoffs, field measurements, production data, and material quantities.
Coordinate project startup, procurement/buyout, subcontractors, materials, schedules, and project handoffs.
Monitor project progress, production, costs, profitability, schedule, quality, and safety.
Identify and resolve field issues involving scope, manpower, equipment, materials, site conditions, inspectors, and customer requirements.
Support change orders, pay requisitions, billing, quantity reconciliation, retainage, certified payroll coordination, and project closeout.
Review daily reports, tickets, quantities, trucking, material usage, and subcontractor activity for accurate job costing and billing.
Maintain effective communication with ownership, foremen, field crews, engineers, inspectors, municipal representatives, customers, and office personnel.
5+ years of relevant heavy construction experience preferred.
Experience in civil/site construction, asphalt paving, municipal/public work, roadway construction, excavation, drainage, grading, utilities, or commercial site development required.
Strong ability to read and interpret civil plans, grading/drainage plans, specifications, scopes, and construction documents.
Experience with construction layout, surveying, grades/elevations, quantity takeoffs, CAD plan review, GPS, or Trimble strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, crew coordination, equipment utilization, materials, trucking, and subcontractor management.
Previous experience as a Project Manager, Field Superintendent, Working Foreman, Assistant Project Manager, Estimator, or similar heavy construction professional is preferred.
Municipal/public project experience, including MassDOT or similar work, pay requisitions, change orders, certified payroll, quantity tracking, and project closeout, is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDFs/digital plans, and construction/project management software.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
Valid driver's license required.
OSHA 10/30, Hoisting License, CDL, Construction Supervisor License, or related certifications are a plus.
Must be comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
