About the Opportunity

A well-established civil and environmental engineering firm in Connecticut is seeking a motivated Civil/Environmental Project Engineer to join its team of design professionals.

The firm provides civil and environmental engineering services to municipal and institutional clients, as well as state and federal agencies. Key Responsibilities

• Perform civil and environmental engineering design for:

  • Sanitary sewer systems

  • Wastewater pump stations

  • Subsurface sewage disposal systems

  • Water supply systems

• Apply knowledge of CT DEEP and CT DPH sanitary system design and permitting requirements

• Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications

• Develop technical reports, cost estimates, and permit applications

• Participate in presentations to land use commissions and clients

• Support project research, analysis, engineering calculations, and documentation

• Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications

• Work approximately 95% in the office and 5% in the field

• Work independently as well as collaboratively under supervision

• Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, and project ownership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

• EIT certification required

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

• Ability to perform accurate and thorough engineering calculations

• Strong leadership, delegation, research, and analytical abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Adaptable, motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality work

• Ability to safely navigate project sites in varying weather conditions

Additional Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction

• Valid driver's license required

• Must be willing to complete a drug screening if required
