Clinical Manager - OT / SLP / PT

Full-Time | Wailuku, Hawaii | Clinical & Leadership Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within the candidate's licensed discipline.

  • Maintain approximately 20-30 billable hours per week currently, while balancing clinical and management responsibilities.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support clinical staff across OT, SLP, and PT.

  • Help manage employee performance, communication, accountability, and day-to-day staff concerns.

  • Provide guidance and support to clinicians regarding complex clinical situations.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary communication and patient care.

  • Monitor clinical productivity, caseload distribution, scheduling, and workflow.

  • Support onboarding and training of new clinicians.

  • Assist with competency development and ongoing professional development.

  • Participate in quality assurance, chart audits, and documentation compliance.

  • Ensure timely and accurate evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and medical-necessity documentation.

  • Support insurance authorization and payer-related documentation requirements.

  • Assist with performance reviews and staff development.

  • Work closely with practice leadership on operational and growth initiatives.

  • Help develop and expand clinical services as the practice grows.

  • Serve as a clinical and management resource for the multidisciplinary team.

  • Build positive relationships with employees while maintaining appropriate accountability and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Current Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or Physical Therapy license, or eligibility/in-process status for Hawaii licensure.

  • Occupational Therapy background preferred; strong SLP or PT candidates will also be considered.

  • Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience.

  • At least 1 year of supervisory, management, mentorship, or leadership experience.

  • Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with insurance authorization and medical-necessity requirements.

  • Experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations; experience with both is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage both clinical responsibilities and administrative/leadership duties.

  • CPR certification is preferred but can be obtained after joining.

  • Willingness and ability to learn Hawaii-specific payer processes and requirements.

Team & Work Environment

  • Multidisciplinary outpatient rehabilitation environment.

  • Current clinical team consists of approximately 5 full-time W-2 clinicians and 5 part-time clinicians.

  • The Clinical Manager will work closely with the existing clinical team and practice leadership.

  • A major initial priority will be effective employee management, communication, leadership, and relationship-building.

Schedule

  • Full-time only

  • 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM

  • Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday

  • In-person position

Compensation

  • $92,107 - $110,920 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • $500 relocation assistance.

Clinical Productivity

  • Current expectation: approximately 50-75% clinical productivity.

  • Current clinical workload: approximately 20-30 billable hours per week.

  • As the practice grows, the clinical productivity expectation is anticipated to decrease to approximately 20% or less, allowing the Clinical Manager to focus increasingly on leadership and management responsibilities.
