Job Summary: Lead and support a dedicated clinical team providing residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. This role combines clinical leadership, therapist supervision, case consultation, staff development, and direct clinical support, while partnering with leadership to ensure high-quality, ethical, and compliant patient care.

Clinical Supervisor - Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder (SUD)

Position Type: Full-Time

Work Location: Atlantic, Iowa

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Work Setting: In Person

Compensation: $68,000-$85,000 annually, based on education, clinical licensure, and experience

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a clinical team of approximately 5 therapists, including clinical guidance, case consultation, and staff development.

• Oversee daily clinical operations, ethical practices, treatment planning, and compliance with applicable regulations.

• Conduct/assist with clinical supervision, staff training, onboarding, and performance-related guidance.

• Provide direct clinical services, including individual/group therapy, assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, client/family education, and crisis management, as needed.

• Monitor the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of clinical documentation and required outcome reporting.

• Develop and coordinate group programming, clinical curriculum, and staff in-service training.

• Collaborate with leadership on complex clinical decisions and step in for leadership support when needed.

• Maintain a high standard of care while fostering a collaborative, ethical, and supportive clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Active clinical license or credential permitting the candidate to practice counseling in Iowa, or eligibility to obtain licensure within approximately 6 months, will be considered.

• Acceptable credentials may include LISW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, CADC, or similar applicable credentials.

• A Master's degree in a mental health-related field is strongly preferred.

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred/required, although candidates with strong team-lead experience may be considered.

• Candidates with team-lead experience should be comfortable addressing scenarios involving staff performance, disciplinary action, and clinical case consultation.

• Strong working knowledge of substance use disorders (SUD) and the unique clinical challenges associated with treating this population.

• Experience in residential SUD treatment or behavioral health is strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of counseling, behavioral health, addiction treatment, and related clinical practices.

• Ability to lead and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.

• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.

• Ability to work compassionately and effectively with individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.

• Must maintain all applicable licenses and certifications throughout employment.

Schedule & Availability

• Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

• Full-time, in-person position.

• On-call availability for crisis management is required.

Compensation

• $68,000-$85,000 annual salary, with placement based on education, clinical licensure, and experience.

• Additional compensation/incentives may be negotiable.

• A 90-day performance-based salary increase may be available based on performance and circumstances.
