Commercial AV Field Technician

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Commercial AV Field Technician to perform hands-on installation, setup, testing, troubleshooting, and servicing of commercial audiovisual systems.
The technician will work on large-scale AV projects across corporate, education, retail, hospitality, and secured facilities. This role requires close coordination with project managers, general contractors, clients, and other trades to ensure successful project execution and system performance.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, and service commercial audiovisual systems.
Perform hands-on installation of AV equipment, displays, speakers, control systems, and related equipment.
Install and terminate AV and low-voltage cabling.
Read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, floor plans, and installation documents.
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
Diagnose and resolve AV equipment, cabling, connectivity, and system performance issues.
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, electricians, and other trades on job sites.
Complete installations according to project specifications and safety requirements.
Maintain accurate installation and service records.
Assist with punch-list completion and final client handoff.
Travel to commercial project sites as required.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in commercial AV installation, integration, or field service.
Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting commercial audiovisual systems.
Experience with AV equipment, displays, speakers, control systems, and signal distribution.
Strong knowledge of AV and low-voltage cabling, termination, and testing.
Ability to read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience with system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
Ability to work with general contractors and other construction trades on active job sites.
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities effectively.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work on ladders/lifts and safely handle AV equipment.
Ability to travel to project sites as required.
