Concrete Quality Control Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a Concrete Quality Control Technician to join our team in Jackson, MS. This is a hands-on position supporting quality control operations within a precast concrete manufacturing plant and outdoor storage yard.

The ideal candidate will have ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification, preferably current, along with experience in concrete quality control, precast concrete, ready-mix concrete, materials testing, or a similar construction materials environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical expertise and advance toward PCI Level I and Level II certifications and potentially grow into a larger Quality Control or Operations role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-pour inspections of reinforcing steel, dimensions, forms, and related components.

• Conduct fresh concrete testing in accordance with applicable standards.

• Prepare and test concrete cylinders.

• Perform aggregate and other construction material testing.

• Conduct post-pour inspections to verify quality and specifications.

• Monitor production practices to ensure established quality standards are met.

• Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.

• Maintain accurate quality control records, test results, and documentation.

• Identify quality issues and communicate findings to production and management teams.

• Work both inside the precast manufacturing facility and outdoors in the storage yard.

• Follow company safety procedures and applicable quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification - required, preferably current.

• Experience with concrete quality control, precast concrete, ready-mix concrete, materials testing, or a related construction materials environment.

• Strong knowledge of fresh concrete testing procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to perform hands-on work in both plant and outdoor environments.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a PCI-certified precast concrete operation.

• Experience with aggregate testing and concrete cylinder preparation/testing.

• Familiarity with precast production processes and quality control procedures.

• Interest in pursuing PCI Level I and PCI Level II certifications.

• Ability to grow into expanded Quality Control or Operations responsibilities.
