The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, managing site logistics, and ensuring work is completed according to plans, specifications, and building codes. The Superintendent will monitor schedules and budgets, enforce safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized job site, and provide leadership to field personnel.
The ideal candidate will have strong construction site management experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to proactively address construction challenges to keep projects on track.
Manage and supervise day-to-day activities on the construction site.
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, materials, deliveries, and site logistics.
Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, schedules, and building codes.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, timelines, and milestones.
Conduct site inspections and monitor quality of work.
Enforce construction safety protocols and maintain a safe job site.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient construction site.
Provide leadership and direction to field personnel and subcontractors.
Communicate project progress, issues, and updates with project managers and other stakeholders.
Identify and resolve on-site construction issues in a timely and effective manner.
Maintain accurate construction documentation, reports, and daily records.
Coordinate the activities of various trades to ensure efficient project execution.
Use construction management software and digital tools for reporting, scheduling, and documentation.
5+ years of construction experience.
Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar construction leadership role.
Experience with construction site management and construction safety.
Strong organizational skills for scheduling, documentation, and coordination of trades and materials.
Experience with budgeting and project management, including tracking costs, timelines, and project milestones.
Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and industry best practices.
Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate subcontractors.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under time pressure.
Proficiency with basic construction management software and digital tools.
Ability to work on-site in Oceanport, NJ.
Ability to safely work in an active construction environment, including standing, walking, and navigating construction sites.
Formal education or training in construction, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Experience with residential and/or commercial construction projects.
Familiarity with construction scheduling and project management software.
Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and construction standards.
