Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Locations: Gray and/or Portland area
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 3.5-Day Work Week
Work Setting: In Person

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine dental cleanings and preventive hygiene procedures.

  • Complete patient assessments and review relevant medical and dental history.

  • Take digital dental X-rays as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.

  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, preventive care, and periodontal health.

  • Identify oral health concerns and communicate findings appropriately with the dental team.

  • Support the development of individualized treatment recommendations.

  • Create a comfortable, welcoming, and positive patient experience.

  • Follow infection control, sterilization, HIPAA, and safety protocols.

  • Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants, and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Maine.

  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.

  • Strong clinical and patient-care skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to educate patients effectively and build long-term relationships.

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

  • Knowledge of infection control and HIPAA requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.

  • Familiarity with digital dental imaging/X-ray systems.

  • Experience in a family, general, or cosmetic dental practice.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base compensation.

  • Performance-based bonus opportunity of approximately $1,000-$2,000 additional per month, depending on performance and practice production.
