Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Detailed Manual CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, cleaning, and maintaining CNC and manual machining equipment to produce high-quality precision components efficiently and safely.

Essential Job Functions

  • Set up, operate, and perform daily maintenance on machining equipment.

  • Operate conventional machines, including Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, and grinding equipment with minimal supervision.

  • Set up, machine, and inspect parts according to specifications.

  • Produce high-quality precision components.

  • Inspect dimensions and geometries to tolerances as tight as 0.0002".

  • Select and properly use machines, tooling, fixtures, and inspection equipment.

  • Assist in developing effective machining methods and processes.

  • Perform deburring, hand filing, and finishing operations.

  • Troubleshoot machining and process issues.

  • Maintain strict compliance with PPE and safety requirements.

  • Provide guidance and support to less-experienced machinists.

Skill Requirements

  • Proficient with manual and CNC mills and lathes.

  • Experience with Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, and grinding.

  • Knowledge of CNC programming and CNC control functions.

  • Ability to set up tooling and fixtures.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Proficient with precision inspection equipment and techniques.

  • Strong deburring and finishing skills.

  • Ability to determine quality and dimensional acceptability.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to meet production and quality standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a related two-year vocational/technical program with 3+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Team player with a willingness to learn new skills and processes.

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

ITAR Requirement

This position is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and requires U.S. citizenship.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment requiring PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, and other required safety equipment.

  • Typical ambient temperatures, plant lighting, and manufacturing equipment will be present throughout the facility.

  • May occasionally require working in small or confined spaces while following all applicable safety procedures.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods as required.

  • Frequent walking on level surfaces throughout the workday.

  • Ability to reach above shoulder height and below waist level.

  • Ability to lift and move materials using proper lifting techniques.

  • Ability to work safely and comfortably in confined spaces when required.
