Director of Engineering & Project Management

About the Role

Growing packaging equipment company seeking a hands-on Director of Engineering & Project Management to lead engineering, equipment customization, project execution, installation, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead packaging equipment selection, configuration, customization, and integration.

• Manage projects from specification through installation and commissioning.

• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers on technical requirements, FATs, modifications, and quality.

• Provide technical support to sales and customers.

• Manage schedules, budgets, resources, and project risks.

• Drive equipment performance, reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

• Travel domestically and occasionally internationally.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Packaging Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 2+ years of experience in packaging machinery, automation, capital equipment, or industrial equipment.

• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and supplier coordination.

• Ability to use AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Inventor, or SolidWorks.

• Previous experience working in food manufacturing or food processing facilities preferred.

• Basic electrical knowledge and understanding of industrial controls/automation.

• Strong project management, communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills.

• Willingness to travel.
