Director of Rehabilitation - Physical Therapy

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Rehabilitation to lead and grow rehabilitation services in an established outpatient setting.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a rehabilitation professional who enjoys combining clinical care, team leadership, program development, and operational improvement.

The Director will help ensure patients receive high-quality, evidence-based, and personalized care while supporting and developing a collaborative clinical team.

What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of rehabilitation services.

• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to Physical Therapy and other rehabilitation professionals.

• Supervise, mentor, and support clinical staff.

• Participate in patient evaluations and treatment planning.

• Help ensure treatment plans are evidence-based, individualized, and focused on meaningful patient outcomes.

• Manage caseload distribution and support efficient clinic workflows.

• Collaborate with referring physicians and other healthcare providers.

• Support interdisciplinary coordination across Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy as appropriate.

• Monitor clinical quality, documentation, compliance, and patient outcomes.

• Develop and implement programs and processes that improve patient care and clinic performance.

• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and the overall patient experience.

• Provide staff training, coaching, and professional development.

• Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and patient-centered clinical environment.

• Support community outreach and relationship-building initiatives.

• Apply principles of manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and movement-based rehabilitation as appropriate.

• Help promote a holistic approach to pain management and functional recovery.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Current California Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain one.

• Strong clinical foundation in Physical Therapy and rehabilitation.

• Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience in an outpatient rehabilitation or therapy setting.

• Strong experience with patient assessment, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making.

• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop clinical staff.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong understanding of documentation, compliance, quality improvement, and clinical outcomes.

• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy or a related rehabilitation field.

• Experience working across interdisciplinary rehabilitation services.

• Knowledge of Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.

• Experience with Pilates-based rehabilitation.

• Training or experience in manual therapy.

• Experience with neuromuscular re-education.

• Background in pain management or non-surgical rehabilitation.

• Experience developing or improving rehabilitation programs.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a licensed Physical Therapist and experienced rehabilitation leader who is comfortable being both a clinical resource and a team leader.

You should enjoy working directly with patients while also helping clinicians grow, improving clinical processes, and building a strong rehabilitation program.

Experience with holistic, movement-based, hands-on, or Pilates-focused care is a strong plus.
