Title: Electrical Project Manager | FLSA: Exempt | Department: Admin | Reports To: President. This role is responsible for directing and supervising the planning and monitoring of commercial and industrial construction projects from inception to completion. The manager ensures work exceeds customer expectations, adheres to safety and OSHA mandates, and drives continued profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead pre-construction meetings, develop project schedules, and set clear milestones and team expectations.
Manage all project financials, including job forecasting, monthly progress billings, and cost-to-complete Work in Progress (WIP) reports.
Negotiate material requirements, develop purchase orders, and establish scopes of work and agreements for subcontractors.
Create Work Breakdown Structures (W.B.S.) for labor hour allocation, as well as site-specific safety plans.
Update schedules, process Requests for Information (RFIs), manage change orders, and maintain current working drawings.
Prepare contract documents, pull permits, schedule inspections, and deliver comprehensive Close-Out Books (As-Built Drawings, O&M Manuals, etc.) at project completion.
Review and maintain accurate labor time records and conduct final project reviews with the team.
High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar studies is preferred.
10 or more years of progressive experience in the electrical construction industry, specifically in large commercial and industrial projects.
OSHA 30 & NFPA 70E certifications are required.
Knowledge of Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations (voltage-drop, Ohm's law, conduit-fill, etc.).
Extensive experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, Bluebeam, Spectrum, and major computerized estimating programs.
Valid NYS driver's license free from major infractions.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and advise on strategic issues.
Supervision: Directly supervises Foremen, Journeymen, and Helpers, managing their training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
Special Requirements: Must be able to commute up to two hours, work overtime/weekends/holidays, and utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
Physical Demands: Requires climbing ladders (including carrying/relocating step ladders up to 12'), steep stairs, crawling, kneeling, and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
Work Environment: Involves both indoor and outdoor work with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, high places, and confined spaces
