We are seeking an Industrial Hygiene Field Technician to join the Asbestos and Lead Services Group. This position offers opportunities for advancement and exposure to other environmental, health, and safety service areas.

The position is based in Willowbrook, Illinois. We are seeking individuals who have Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Asbestos Inspector, Project Manager, and/or Air Sampling Professional Licenses. Candidates willing to learn from the ground up are encouraged for this position. Specialized training will be provided.

Training may include:

• IDPH asbestos licensing courses

• OSHA 30 Hour General Industry

• HAZWOPER

• NIOSH 582 Air Sampling

• Aerial lift, scissor lift, and man lift training

• Fall protection

• Respiratory protection

• Other relevant safety and technical training

All training and licensing fees will be covered. Special consideration will be given to candidates who already hold asbestos certifications and licenses.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with asbestos and lead inspection services.

• Perform asbestos and lead air monitoring and analysis according to IDPH regulations during abatement activities.

• Operate and maintain sampling pumps, calibrators, microscopes, and related equipment.

• Collect samples, complete data sheets and chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for laboratory shipment.

• Maintain daily project activity logs.

• Perform project oversight and coordinate with contractors.

• Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives.

• Read project specifications, piping diagrams, and drawings.

• Prepare technical reports.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is a plus.

• 2 years of experience performing asbestos and lead inspections or industrial hygiene sampling.

• IDPH Asbestos Inspector, Project Manager, and Air Sampling Professional Licenses preferred.

• Ability to pass EPA training and obtain required state asbestos licensing.

• Willingness to learn and become familiar with EPA and OSHA regulations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to read piping diagrams and/or blueprints.

• Ability to use tablets for field inspection activities.

• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.

• Ability to carry equipment, climb ladders, and use hand and power tools.

• Ability to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other required safety equipment.
