Senior Hardware Technician / Hardware & Network Support Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Hardware & Network Support Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a nationwide fleet of connected kiosks and edge-computing devices.

This position is primarily hardware-focused and requires strong experience with electrical troubleshooting, wire tracing, power supplies, and hardware replacement. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and be comfortable supporting VPNs, firewalls, cellular connectivity, and remote device management solutions.

This is an on-site role requiring ownership of hardware deployments, troubleshooting, device reliability, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Installation & Device Support

• Configure, deploy, image, and maintain kiosk and edge-computing devices.

• Perform hardware assembly, provisioning, and quality assurance testing.

• Troubleshoot computers, touchscreens, scanners, cameras, printers, and peripheral devices.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware failures.

• Remove and replace defective components and devices.

• Connect and replace power supplies and associated hardware.

• Maintain wiring diagrams, assembly procedures, and hardware documentation.

• Manage inventory, warranties, RMAs, and component lifecycle activities.

• Evaluate and integrate new hardware and peripheral devices.

Electrical Troubleshooting

• Perform wire tracing and electrical troubleshooting.

• Work with 12VDC, 24VDC, and 120VAC systems.

• Use multimeters and diagnostic tools to identify power and connectivity issues.

• Troubleshoot wiring, connectors, relays, power supplies, and field devices.

• Support large-scale deployments and hardware refresh initiatives.

Networking & Connectivity

• Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and firewall settings.

• Support LTE/cellular connectivity and failover solutions.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and coordinate with service providers.

• Support remote access and cloud-connected devices.

Systems Support

• Deploy and support Windows 10/11 systems.

• Perform firmware updates and operating system patching.

• Support endpoint security and remote device management tools.

• Monitor device health, connectivity, and peripheral status.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware support, field service, electronics, or technical operations.

• Experience troubleshooting hardware devices, kiosks, POS systems, IoT devices, industrial systems, or similar equipment.

• Strong understanding of electrical systems involving 12VDC, 24VDC, and 120VAC.

• Experience performing wire tracing and diagnosing electrical faults.

• Experience connecting and replacing power supplies and hardware components.

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware issues in the field.

• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and firewall fundamentals.

• Experience supporting Windows 10/11 devices.

• Experience with remote device support and deployments.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work on-site in Fairfax, VA.

• U.S. Citizenship required.
