As Our Client's business continues to grow, they are seeking a talented and motivated Interior Designer to join their design team and play a key role in developing innovative workplace environments for their clients.
Position Summary
The Interior Designer will work closely with Our Client's sales, project management, and leadership teams to create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and budget-conscious workplace solutions. This role involves space planning, furniture specification, finish selection, client presentations, renderings, and project support from concept through installation.
The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, technically proficient, and passionate about commercial interior design.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Our Client's sales teams to develop workplace design solutions
Conduct programming, space planning, and furniture layouts using AutoCAD
Create 2D and 3D plans, furniture specifications, and presentation materials
Develop furniture specifications utilizing CAP 2020, CET Designer, or similar specification software
Select finishes, fabrics, flooring, paint colors, and complementary materials
Produce renderings and visual presentations to support client proposals
Prepare budgets, quotations, and furniture inventories
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design reviews
Perform field measurements, site surveys, and verification of existing conditions
Assist with corporate branding and environmental graphics initiatives
Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, architects, contractors, and project managers
Support installation teams to ensure design intent is achieved
Maintain project documentation and design standards
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Interior Design or related field
Minimum of 2 years of interior design experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Strong understanding of space planning principles
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field
Experience within a contract furniture dealership or commercial interiors environment
Experience with CAP 2020 specification software
Experience with CET Designer (Configura) for space planning, specification, rendering, and presentation development
Experience with SketchUp, Revit, or similar 3D modeling software
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
Knowledge of commercial furniture systems, flooring, architectural products, and workplace trends
Experience creating photorealistic renderings and client presentations
Experience working on government, corporate, healthcare, or educational projects
