One of our clients, a growing real estate development firm, is seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale ground-up multifamily construction projects in Northern California.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring an accomplished construction professional with extensive experience managing complex developments while collaborating with developers, executive leadership, financial partners, architects, consultants, public agencies, and project teams. The successful candidate will combine exceptional project execution with strong executive presence, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Candidates must be comfortable spending significant time on project sites and traveling as business needs require.
Lead large-scale ground-up multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
Manage project budgets, schedules, quality, safety, subcontractors, procurement, and overall project execution.
Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, developers, executive leadership, architects, engineers, consultants, financial partners, and project stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with city officials, regulatory agencies, developers, financial institutions, and ownership groups.
Represent the project during executive meetings, stakeholder presentations, and coordination meetings.
Review and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project, Procore, or equivalent construction management platforms.
Prepare and manage:

Submittals
Change Orders
Purchase Orders
Bid Packages
Contracts
Project Documentation
Conduct project meetings and ensure effective communication between all stakeholders.
Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
Ensure compliance with contract documents, project specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
Lead project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and turnover documentation.
10+ years of Project Management experience within commercial and/or multifamily construction.
Extensive experience leading ground-up multifamily apartment construction projects.
Proven experience managing large-scale, high-value construction projects from groundbreaking through completion.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage complex construction projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Experience using Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar construction management software.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Experience working directly with developers, owners, architects, engineers, consultants, lenders, and executive stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
Experience with Affordable Housing, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) developments, or publicly funded multifamily projects is highly preferred.
Experience coordinating with municipalities, permitting agencies, and regulatory authorities.
Experience presenting project updates to executive leadership, ownership groups, or boards.

Approximately 50-70% travel.
Candidates located in Northern California, Oregon, or Washington are preferred.
Must be willing to spend extended periods near project sites when required.
