Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Military Mental Health / DoD

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical social work services, including mental health assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, and treatment completion or referral to appropriate resources/higher levels of care.

• Provide mental health therapy and consultation to military members.

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.

• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment approaches as clinically appropriate.

• Coordinate referrals and additional resources when indicated.

• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with applicable standards and requirements.

• Maintain professional standards and ethical practices related to the delivery of clinical social work services.

• Utilize electronic medical records and other computer-based systems for clinical documentation, reporting, correspondence, databases, spreadsheets, and related administrative functions.

• Remain current with applicable clinical, technological, professional, credentialing, and regulatory developments.

• Perform duties in accordance with applicable Defense Health Agency (DHA) standards and procedures.

• Support quality clinical care and maintain all required credentials and documentation throughout the period of performance.

• Work collaboratively with military healthcare personnel and other members of the care team as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

• Current, unrestricted LCSW license in any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

• Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure experience in the independent practice of Clinical Social Work within the past 5 years.

• Must have practiced the full scope of Clinical Social Work within the last 3 years, including: Clinical assessment, Treatment planning and Therapy

• Treatment completion and/or referral to additional resources or higher levels of care

• Working knowledge of professional standards and ethics applicable to clinical social work practice.

• Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and common software applications, including: Word processing, Databases, Data analysis software, Spreadsheets and Electronic medical records

• Basic typing skills sufficient to efficiently prepare clinical reports, correspondence, and other required documentation.

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Must be able to provide documentation of current BCLS certification prior to beginning performance.

• Must maintain proficiency in current technological and professional developments applicable to the role and meet applicable DoD/DHA credentialing standards.

Security Clearance Requirement

• U.S. citizenship is required due to the security clearance requirement.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.

• Candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance may be considered, with the clearance process initiated at the time of hire, subject to eligibility and applicable requirements.

• The TS/SCI clearance must be obtained/maintained as required for performance and remain valid through the end of the period of performance.

• Candidates should be prepared to complete extensive security, credentialing, and employment documentation associated with a DoD contract.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous military, DoD, government, or military-related clinical experience strongly preferred.

• Experience providing behavioral health services to military members, veterans, or similar populations is highly desirable.

• Experience working within a structured healthcare, government, or highly regulated clinical environment is a plus.

• Strong documentation, communication, clinical judgment, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of all required background, security, credentialing, and compliance processes.

• Ability to maintain all required professional licenses, certifications, and security credentials throughout employment.

• Ability to comply with applicable DoD, DHA, facility, and contractual requirements.

• BCLS documentation must be provided to the appropriate contracting and credentialing representatives before beginning performance.

Note: This is a DoD contract position supporting military members. Candidates should be comfortable working within the documentation, credentialing, security, and compliance requirements associated with a federal government healthcare contract.
