About the Position

We are seeking a Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense to join our Toledo office. This position is designed for an attorney with minimum 3+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or civil litigation who is looking to take on meaningful responsibility within an established litigation practice.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing litigation matters, communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel, and handling the day-to-day responsibilities associated with active cases. While insurance defense experience is strongly relevant, candidates with a solid civil litigation background will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop litigation matters from case intake through resolution

• Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents

• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement discussions, and trial preparation

• Communicate with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties

• Develop case strategy and provide practical legal guidance throughout the litigation process

• Manage multiple matters while maintaining strong organization, attention to detail, and deadlines

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or civil litigation

• Active license to practice law in the State of Ohio

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills

• Experience handling litigation matters with increasing levels of responsibility

• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities effectively

• Strong professional judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail

• Comfortable working in a primarily on-site law firm environment
