Position Overview

A leading national law firm is seeking a highly motivated mid-level to senior associate attorney to join its Business Litigation Practice Group with a focus on Environmental Law and Litigation.

This position is ideal for an attorney with substantial experience handling complex environmental regulatory matters, environmental litigation, administrative proceedings, and sophisticated business and commercial disputes. The successful candidate will have strong legal research and writing skills and the ability to navigate complex state and federal regulatory frameworks.

The position is based in Denver, Colorado.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex environmental litigation, regulatory, and administrative matters.

• Represent clients before state and federal administrative agencies and in state and federal courts.

• Manage litigation matters involving environmental regulations, regulatory enforcement, and agency challenges.

• Conduct sophisticated legal research and prepare high-quality legal briefs, motions, memoranda, and other litigation documents.

• Assist with motion hearings, court appearances, administrative proceedings, and other advocacy matters.

• Analyze and interpret complex environmental statutes, regulations, agency guidance, and administrative decisions.

• Advise clients regarding environmental regulatory requirements, compliance issues, enforcement matters, and potential litigation.

• Work collaboratively with attorneys across business litigation and other practice areas on complex client matters.

• Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal advice to clients regarding regulatory and environmental risks.

Qualifications

• Significant experience handling complex environmental regulatory, environmental litigation, administrative law, and/or business and commercial litigation matters.

• Strong regulatory and litigation background, including experience navigating state and federal administrative agencies as well as federal and state court systems.

• Experience with courtroom proceedings, including motion hearings, oral arguments, depositions, or other appearances, strongly preferred.

• Exceptional legal research and writing skills.

• Experience with administrative law, agency proceedings, regulatory enforcement, and/or regulatory challenges.

• Demonstrated experience working with state and federal agencies.

• Strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations and the ability to interpret and apply complex statutory, regulatory, and agency frameworks.

• Federal clerkship experience is highly preferred.

• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and writing skills.

• Ability to manage multiple complex matters and work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.

• Must be admitted and in good standing with the Colorado Bar or otherwise eligible to practice in Colorado.

Compensation

Estimated Salary Range: $240,000 - $320,000 annually

Starting compensation will be determined based on location, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
