Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing manufacturing team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role is responsible for supporting quality assurance initiatives, APQP and PPAP activities, CMM programming, process improvement projects, and compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949 quality management systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment and possess strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and quality systems expertise. This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to drive quality improvements and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Lead and support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans, testing methods, and product specifications.
Program and support Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and dimensional inspection activities.
Conduct internal quality audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949 requirements.
Investigate quality issues, nonconformances, customer complaints, and supplier concerns using root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
Create, track, and verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA/CARs).
Analyze quality data, generate reports, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
Lead cross-functional teams to improve product quality, reduce defects, and increase productivity.
Develop inspection and sampling plans to ensure product conformance.
Provide technical quality support to customers, suppliers, engineering, and production teams.
Assist customers with quality-related concerns and resolution activities.
Recommend improvements to products, manufacturing processes, and quality standards based on data analysis.
Train employees on quality procedures, inspection requirements, and quality management system expectations.
Ensure compliance with company safety, housekeeping, and quality policies.
Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or IATF 16949 quality management systems.
Experience with quality tools including:
Root Cause Analysis
Corrective Actions (CAR/CAPA)
FMEA
SPC
MSA
Control Plans
Process Audits
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality reporting tools.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
