Optical Lab Representative

Position Summary

The Optical Lab Representative is responsible for supporting customer relationships and promoting the company's optical laboratory products and services. This role works closely with optical professionals, laboratories, customers, and internal teams to ensure excellent service, identify business opportunities, and support sales growth.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, a customer-focused mindset, and knowledge of the optical industry or ophthalmic products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.

  • Promote and represent the company's optical laboratory products, services, and capabilities.

  • Identify new business opportunities and support customer growth within the assigned territory or market.

  • Communicate with customers to understand their product needs, service requirements, and concerns.

  • Provide product information and assist customers with questions regarding optical products and laboratory services.

  • Work closely with internal laboratory, production, customer service, and sales teams to support customer needs.

  • Follow up on customer inquiries, orders, service issues, and other requests to ensure timely resolution.

  • Maintain regular contact with assigned accounts and build long-term customer relationships.

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve service and retention.

  • Communicate customer feedback, market trends, and competitive information to management.

  • Support sales initiatives, promotions, and business development activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and account information.

  • Participate in meetings, training programs, industry events, and other activities as required.

  • Travel to customer locations as needed.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in sales, account management, customer service, or business development preferred.

  • Experience in the optical, ophthalmic, eyecare, or optical laboratory industry is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, optical products, laboratory processes, or related products is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to identify customer needs and provide effective solutions.

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
