Job Summary: We are looking for a Doctor of Optometry (OD) to join our White Mountain Eyecare team. This is primarily a routine optometry position, with approximately 90% routine care and 10% medical eye care. You’ll work alongside an existing optometrist and ophthalmologist in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Compensation: $167,000 Base + $10K-$20K Incentive


What You'll Do

  • Perform comprehensive eye and vision exams

  • Diagnose and manage common eye conditions

  • Prescribe glasses, contacts, and medications

  • Provide routine eye care and patient education

  • Identify systemic disease-related eye conditions

  • Review diagnostic testing and develop treatment plans

  • Refer patients to the ophthalmologist when appropriate

  • Document care and support accurate billing

  • Participate in quality and patient safety programs

  • Provide ER phone consultations as part of the call rotation

Practice Details

  • 90% Routine / 10% Medical

  • No pre/post-op care required

  • No glaucoma/TPA treatment expected

  • 16-20 patients/day

  • Clinic: Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM

  • Scheduled approximately 4 days/week

  • Call: 10 days/month

  • Call is primarily after-hours and consists of ER phone consultations

Collaboration

You'll share routine coverage with the current optometrist and work closely with the ophthalmologist.

Patients requiring specialized care may be referred for:

  • Glaucoma

  • Retina

  • Cataract surgery

  • Diabetic retinopathy

  • Medical follow-up

Equipment

  • Optomap

  • OCT

  • Visual fields

  • B-scan

  • Atlas Topographer

  • Auto-refractor

  • Lensometer

  • Air-puff/corneal hysteresis

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD)

  • Graduate of an ACOE-accredited optometry school

  • NH Optometry license or eligibility

  • TPA/Glaucoma certification

  • CPR certification

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Board certification and prior experience preferred.

Compensation

  • $167,000 Base Salary

  • $10,000-$20,000 Productivity Incentive
