We have partnered with an established Connecticut law firm that is actively hiring an Experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join its growing practice in Shelton, CT. This is a hands-on opportunity for a paralegal who is comfortable taking ownership of residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing and post-closing. The ideal candidate will have substantive closing experience, strong knowledge of Connecticut real estate procedures, and the ability to manage transactions independently while working closely with attorneys, clients, lenders, brokers, title companies and other transaction parties.
This is a strictly in-office position in Shelton, CT.
What You'll Be Doing
Manage residential and commercial real estate transactions from file opening through closing and post-closing.
Prepare, organise and review purchase and sale agreements, deeds, closing statements and other transaction documents.
Coordinate closing documentation and ensure files are complete and ready for closing.
Review title commitments, title searches, municipal lien information, payoffs and other due-diligence materials.
Assist with identifying and resolving title issues, liens, judgments and other matters affecting a transaction.
Coordinate with lenders, title companies, brokers, clients, attorneys and opposing counsel throughout the transaction.
Prepare and maintain closing checklists, transaction timelines and related documentation. Coordinate closing figures, payoff information, adjustments and other settlement-related items.
Assist with recording and post-closing requirements. Maintain accurate and well-organised electronic and physical transaction files.
Track deadlines and proactively follow up on outstanding items to keep transactions moving.
Communicate professionally with clients and transaction parties and provide a high level of client service. Support attorneys with additional real estate matters as required.
What We're Looking For
Demonstrated hands-on experience as a Real Estate Paralegal or Closing Paralegal.
Strong experience with residential real estate closings.
Experience handling commercial real estate transactions and closings.
Working knowledge of the Connecticut real estate transaction and closing process.
Experience with title searches/commitments, deeds, closing statements, payoffs and related documentation.
Ability to manage multiple active transactions and competing deadlines independently.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Confident communication skills when dealing with clients, attorneys, lenders, brokers and title companies.
Strong Microsoft Office and legal technology skills.
A proactive, accountable approach with the ability to identify outstanding issues before they become closing problems.
Ability and willingness to work strictly on-site in Shelton, CT.
