Pharmacy Director

Location: Clewiston, Florida

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $145,000-$175,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit

  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $6,500

  • Full-time position with onsite leadership responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the overall pharmacy department and pharmacy team

  • Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of daily pharmacy operations

  • Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and develop pharmacy staff

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards

  • Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures

  • Oversee medication procurement, inventory management, distribution, and appropriate medication-use processes

  • Promote safe and effective medication management throughout the hospital

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other clinical teams to optimize medication therapy and patient safety

  • Support and oversee medication safety initiatives and antimicrobial stewardship

  • Monitor pharmacy performance, operational efficiency, and quality metrics

  • Manage departmental budgets and identify opportunities for cost-effective pharmacy operations

  • Maintain readiness for regulatory and accreditation requirements

  • Stay current with developments in pharmacy practice, technology, regulations, and medication management

  • Identify opportunities to improve pharmacy operations and clinical services

  • Serve as a key liaison between the pharmacy department, hospital leadership, and other clinical departments

  • Support the implementation and optimization of pharmacy technology and electronic health record systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution

  • Active Florida pharmacist license or clear eligibility to obtain Florida licensure

  • Target of 7+ years of progressive pharmacy experience

  • Target of 3+ years of pharmacy leadership or management experience

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards

  • Experience with pharmacy operations, medication management, and departmental oversight

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and operational responsibilities within a healthcare setting

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospital or health-system pharmacy leadership experience

  • Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital, rural hospital, or smaller hospital environment

  • Experience with inpatient pharmacy operations

  • Experience with medication safety and antimicrobial stewardship

  • Postgraduate pharmacy residency training

  • Board certification in a pharmacy specialty

  • Experience with pharmacy information systems and electronic health records

  • Advanced pharmacy leadership training or certification

  • Experience managing pharmacy operations across multiple sites or large/multi-site environments
