Job Summary: About the OpportunityWe are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a patient-focused outpatient physical therapy practice in the Nashville metropolitan area.This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced PTAs and new graduates who are passionate about helping patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall function.The practice provides hands-on, individualized rehabilitation in a collaborative clinical environment. The PTA will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver effective treatment plans and support positive patient outcomes.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Location: Shelbyville, TN
Job Type: Full-Time
Setting: Outpatient Physical Therapy
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM-6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists with implementing individualized treatment plans.

• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities.

• Provide hands-on support during treatment sessions.

• Monitor patient response and progress throughout treatment.

• Communicate changes in patient condition or progress to supervising Physical Therapists.

• Educate patients on home exercise programs and proper exercise techniques.

• Assist patients with safe use of therapeutic equipment.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Follow established clinical and safety protocols.

• Provide professional, compassionate, patient-centered care.

• Collaborate with the clinical team to support quality treatment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.

• Current Tennessee PTA license or eligibility for licensure.

• Strong understanding of therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation principles.

• Ability to provide safe and compassionate patient care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals.

• Strong organization and time-management skills.

• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation.

• Basic computer and EMR proficiency.

• Outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred but not required.

• Balance/vestibular experience is a plus but not required.

• New graduate PTAs are welcome to apply.
