Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Specialist to join the Quality Assurance team and provide technical support to the Engineering, Quality, and Estimating teams.

The Quality Specialist will provide guidance and mentoring for Coordinate Measuring System (CMS) inspection processes and personnel, review customer Digital Product Definition (DPD) / Model-Based Definition (MBD) data, and support the review and approval of engineering drawings and other technical documentation.

This position requires advanced knowledge of Boeing D6-51991, ASME Y14.5 GD&T, CAD modeling, CMS equipment, CATIA data, inspection programming, and aerospace quality requirements. The individual will also provide training and technical guidance on GD&T and CMS inspection practices across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring for CMS inspection processes and inspection personnel.

• Provide advanced technical support related to Boeing D6-51991 DPD/MBD requirements.

• Apply advanced knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing / GD&T.

• Train personnel on CMS equipment, inspection techniques, inspection programming, and equipment operation.

• Create, review, verify, and maintain CMS inspection programs.

• Evaluate inspection equipment, techniques, and methodologies to ensure appropriate application.

• Create and evaluate derivatives from native CAD datasets.

• Review current CAD models against internal engineering drawings to verify conformance with design requirements.

• Review customer DPD/MBD data and other engineering data to identify applicable requirements.

• Evaluate part models and determine appropriate inspection techniques, methods, and inspection plans, particularly for First Article Inspection (FAI) parts.

• Provide technical support to the Engineering Team in reviewing and approving drawings and other engineering media.

• Provide support to the Estimating Team when evaluating design data, inspection requirements, and testing requirements for customer quotations.

• Support the First Article Inspection (FAI) process as required.

• Provide formal and informal mentoring and training in CMS inspection and GD&T.

• Deliver training to Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other personnel as required.

• Maintain compliance with the company's documented Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.

• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of quality processes and documentation.

• Assist Engineering with the design and development of inspection fixtures to support inspection processes.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Candidates should have one of the following:

• College-level technical training

• Vocational or technical training

• Relevant professional certification

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of formal education

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace quality, inspection, engineering, CAD, metrology, or a related discipline.

• Strong experience with CAD modeling and engineering data interpretation.

• Advanced experience with GD&T and ASME Y14.5.

• Experience working with CMS equipment and inspection processes.

• Experience creating, reviewing, and verifying inspection programs.

• Experience working with CATIA files and CAD derivatives.

• Experience with Boeing DPD/MBD data and requirements strongly required.

• Experience providing technical training and mentoring to personnel.
