Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead high-profile residential and commercial interior design projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong design portfolio, excellent technical capabilities, proven project leadership experience, and the ability to manage client relationships, project teams, vendors, and contractors.

This role will work closely with the Principal Designer and broader design team to develop creative concepts, manage project execution, oversee technical documentation, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead interior design projects across residential and/or commercial environments.

  • Ensure the creative vision aligns with client goals, project scope, and overall design direction.

  • Oversee and mentor designers and design assistants throughout all phases of projects.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, schedules, staffing, and deliverables.

  • Communicate project challenges and potential issues to the Principal Designer and project team.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong professional relationships.

  • Present design concepts, mood boards, material selections, samples, and technical drawings to clients.

  • Work with the Principal Designer and clients to define project requirements and establish design criteria.

  • Develop innovative interior design concepts based on client needs and project objectives.

  • Refine design concepts including space planning, furniture layouts, materials, finishes, and color schemes.

  • Create sketches, graphic presentations, detailed drawings, and construction documents using appropriate design software.

  • Prepare estimates, schedules, staffing plans, design development packages, and construction documentation.

  • Ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, technical, and budgetary requirements.

  • Maintain accurate project specifications, drawings, documentation, and other technical records.

  • Collaborate with project managers, design coordinators, and other team members to achieve project goals.

  • Source and specify materials, furniture, lighting, finishes, and other design elements.

  • Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, contractors, and other project partners throughout project execution.

  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address design-related issues.

  • Identify and resolve project challenges while maintaining design intent and quality.

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to junior members of the design team.

  • Collaborate with the Principal Designer to develop and implement project design strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.

  • 5+ years of professional interior design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating high-end residential and/or commercial projects.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience within an interior design environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in CAD and the ability to perform a full range of interior design-related functions.

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling graphic presentations and detailed construction drawings.

  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, materials, and finishes.

  • Exceptional design sensibility with a strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, designers, coordinators, fabricators, vendors, and contractors.

  • Proven experience coordinating with project teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Studio Designer Webware.

  • Experience working on high-end residential and/or commercial interior design projects.

  • Experience managing projects from initial concept through installation and completion.
