A construction company is seeking an Estimator to take the lead on sitework and civil pricing for projects across Florida. You'll support preconstruction teams from early budgets through final bids, producing accurate, well-documented estimates that account for both project scope and site-specific risks.
Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed quantity takeoffs, and final estimates for earthwork, underground utilities, stormwater systems, paving, site concrete, and related civil work.
Review civil drawings, surveys, geotechnical reports, and permit information to identify quantities, construction challenges, and potential cost exposure.
Build scopes of work, solicit and compare subcontractor proposals, and recommend pricing and award strategies.
Identify gaps between civil and building scopes and suggest practical value-engineering options.
Maintain clear estimate backup and hand off pricing assumptions to the project team when work is awarded.
3+ years of sitework or civil construction estimating experience, including conceptual estimates and hard bids, with a general contractor or sitework contractor.
Demonstrated ability to perform accurate digital quantity takeoffs and interpret grading, drainage, utility, paving, and other civil plans.
Working knowledge of earthwork, stormwater systems, underground utilities, site construction methods, and the factors that affect production costs.
Familiarity with Florida site conditions and permitting considerations, including groundwater, dewatering, stormwater, and unsuitable soils.
A relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on civil/site construction experience.
Ability to manage concurrent bids, communicate with subcontractors and project teams, and document estimating assumptions clearly.
Valid driver's license, OSHA 10 certification, and First Aid/CPR certification.
Florida estimating experience and familiarity with local civil standards are especially valuable.
