Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Overview

The Staff Accountant will support the Controller and assist with day-to-day general accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, inventory accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close activities. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills and an interest in manufacturing and cost accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Maintain and support fixed assets, depreciation, prepaids, and general ledger activities.

  • Assist with customer inquiries related to Accounts Receivable.

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of balance sheet and P&L reporting.

  • Perform inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

  • Conduct cycle count audits and review perpetual inventory accuracy and valuation.

  • Assist with internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and accounting projects as needed.

  • Collaborate with accounting, manufacturing, and other internal departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience or interest in manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, or cost accounting preferred.

  • Understanding of ERP or manufacturing accounting systems.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced Excel.

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Advanced degree or relevant accounting certification is a plus.
