We are seeking an experienced Inside Technical Sales Representative to join a Renewal Sales team supporting domestic and international customers. This position works closely with customers and internal Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
The role is primarily conducted through email and requires strong attention to detail, technical understanding, customer service skills, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships. This is not a call center position.
Communicate directly with domestic and international customers regarding quotes, orders, pricing, delivery, and product information.
Process customer quotes, orders, change orders, returns, and cancellations accurately and in a timely manner.
Respond to post-sale customer concerns involving delivery, invoicing, and related issues.
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, measurements, bills of material (BOMs), and other technical information.
Learn and understand technical products, parts, equipment, services, and capabilities.
Follow up with customers to obtain parts orders and resolve outstanding requirements.
Analyze costs, margins, and selling prices, including customer-specific pricing.
Determine product availability and lead times using an ERP system.
Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments to ensure proper product selection and on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate sales documentation and customer records.
Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
Provide after-hours customer emergency support through a rotating on-call schedule. After-hours calls are rare and appropriately compensated.
Minimal travel may be required, generally less than 5% annually.
Associate Degree with 4 years of related experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of related experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Ability to understand bills of material, measurements, specifications, and technical information.
Valid driver's license.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

5+ years of technical/industrial sales experience.
Previous experience in technical sales, inside sales, industrial sales, or technical customer service.
ERP experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with pricing, cost, margin, and lead-time analysis.
Strong follow-up and negotiating skills.
General knowledge of contract language, terms, and conditions of sale.
Experience working with international customers.
