Job Summary: <p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Traveling Construction Superintendent</strong> to oversee commercial retail construction projects. This position will be responsible for supervising, inspecting, and approving day-to-day project operations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to drawings and specifications.</p>

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, inspect, and approve day-to-day construction operations.

  • Complete all required on-site paperwork, reports, and documentation.

  • Coordinate construction activities with store management, subcontractors, and the Project Manager.

  • Schedule, manage, and assist subcontractors as needed.

  • Maintain jobsite safety and provide accountability for safety reporting and documentation.

  • Prepare and document job meetings, safety meetings, daily pictures, logs, and reports.

  • Inspect and secure the jobsite to help prevent damage and theft.

  • Ensure a safe work environment by following and enforcing established safety standards.

  • Represent the organization professionally and with integrity.

  • Be willing to perform hands-on work when needed.

  • Handle additional duties and responsibilities as required to support successful project completion.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications and ensure work is completed according to plans.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, smartphones, and sending jobsite photos.

  • Ability to travel up to 90% as needed.

  • Availability to work Friday through Saturday when required.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • OSHA 10-hour certification, basic First Aid, and CPR training preferred.

  • Ability to learn quickly and make sound decisions to maintain project schedules.

  • Ability to understand projects from start to finish and anticipate potential issues.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve construction-related issues.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Ability to work effectively in diverse construction and jobsite environments.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks as required during construction activities.

The position requires extensive travel (up to 90%), so that should be highlighted prominently when sourcing candidates.
