Urgent Care / Associate Veterinarian

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is negotiable based on schedule and experience
Approximately $100,000 for a 2-day-per-week schedule
Approximately $160,000-$180,000 for 3-4 days per week
Benefits available for employees working 30+ hours per week
1099 contract arrangements may also be considered for veterinarians who prefer that structure
Qualifications
DVM degree from an accredited veterinary program
Active California veterinary license preferred
Candidates who are eligible to obtain California licensure as soon as possible will also be considered
The practice may be willing to wait for licensing depending on the candidate and circumstances
2-3 years of veterinary experience preferred, although this is not strictly required
Internship experience is preferred but not required
New graduates may be considered depending on their training, skills, and overall fit
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to quality patient care
Surgical & Dental Opportunities
Candidates with surgical and dental skills are highly valued, although ER/urgent-care surgical experience is not required.
The practice is equipped to perform a broad range of procedures, including:
Routine and advanced dentistry
Dental radiography
Scoping/endoscopy
Routine soft-tissue surgery
Complex GI surgery
Other general and urgent-care procedures
Veterinarians who enjoy surgery and dentistry will have opportunities to further develop these skills. Surgical experience is particularly beneficial for candidates interested in urgent-care shifts, but it is not mandatory.
Team & Support
The current veterinary team includes two general practice veterinarians and one urgent-care veterinarian, with additional staffing expected as the caseload and operating hours grow.
Each veterinarian generally works with two veterinary technicians
A floater is also available to provide additional support
The practice intends to expand staffing and hours as the patient volume increases
A collaborative environment where doctors can contribute ideas and have a voice in the practice
Mentorship & Professional Development
Veterinarians will have access to hands-on mentorship and opportunities to further develop their clinical skills. Mentorship may include:
Internal medicine
Ultrasound
Dentistry
Surgery
Other areas based on the veterinarian's interests and available time
