Job Summary: <p>The Veterinarian serves as the medical leader of the veterinary practice, providing high-quality medical and surgical care while fostering a positive, collaborative environment. The role focuses on patient care, client communication, medical quality, team development, and collaboration with practice management to support efficient clinic operations.</p>

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care for companion animals.

• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.

• Perform routine and complex veterinary medical and surgical procedures.

• Provide follow-up care for medical and surgical conditions and complications.

• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

• Stay current with advances in veterinary medicine, medical interventions, and products.

• Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and other team members to ensure quality patient care.

• Work with practice management to optimize physician and staff scheduling.

• Assist with staff development, training, and performance improvement.

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.

• Ensure compliance with applicable veterinary, health, safety, and controlled-substance regulations.

• Maintain consistent attendance and professionalism.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.

• Minimum of 2 years of veterinary clinic experience preferred.

• Current, active Colorado veterinary license with no pending disciplinary actions.

• Current, active DEA license.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative veterinary team environment.

• Proficiency with computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Ability to learn and effectively use veterinary practice management and electronic medical record systems.

• Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to remain professional and effective in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Working Conditions

• Veterinary clinic environment requiring frequent standing, crouching, bending, and movement.

• Potential exposure to noise, zoonotic diseases, animal bites, and scratches.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to work safely and effectively around animals and veterinary equipment.
